Meet Our Board
Wild Rose Dairy Goat Society was founded in 2022 by a group of dairy goat enthusiasts looking to build a community of like-minded breeders, exhibitors, and keepers in Alberta. Some of us grew up in dairy goats, and others found the joys of dairy goats later in life, but all of us were thankful for the community we had found ourselves in and were eager to help it grow. Many of us have excellent mentors who taught us a lot, and we wanted to build a network to help new and seasoned breeders alike learn, grow and enjoy themselves within a supportive community. As a Society we aim to give our members opportunities to learn and connect with other ‘goaty folks’ by hosting events like shows and workshops and to start building a bank of educational resources for new goat keepers. By joining Wild Rose Dairy Goat Society, we hope to give you a platform to learn, share your experience and hopefully make a few friends along the way.
President
Alex Cripps
Alex may hail from New Brunswick, but he’s brought full Alpine attitude to Alberta. A long‑time breeder of Alpine dairy goats, CGS Judge, and veteran of the commercial cattle‑dairy world, Alex blends sharp herd sense with no‑nonsense leadership. Between his work in the veterinary field and the steady growth of his Alberta herd, he keeps WRDGS climbing higher.
Vice President
Callum McLeod
Callum brings classic Swiss‑style calm and precision to the WRDGS board. Alongside his herd of Alpines, Oberhasli, and Saanens, he keeps busy as President of the Canadian Goat Society, a CGS Classifier and Judge, a Canadian Meat Goat and Angora Judge, and an APA Poultry Judge — truly more credentials than a show‑ring lineup. Known for his fairness, dry humour, and rock‑solid reliability, Callum helps keep the society balanced, focused, and steadily moving forward.
Secretary
Kathleen Arkes
Kathleen started showing as a Pee‑Wee 4‑H member in BC and never stopped. Her family bred Toggenburgs for decades, and summers were spent hauling goats across Western Canada — a rhythm she still loves today. Kathleen and her husband raise Saanen and Toggenburg dairy goats under the Homestead Valley herd name with their three boys. They participate in classification, 305‑day milk testing, and shows, hauling to as many as they can.As secretary of the Wild Rose Dairy Goat Society, Kathleen is proud to support a vibrant, goat‑loving community.
Treasurer
Sherrie Semple
Sherrie is a true dairy‑goat icon. With decades of experience and Toggenburgs that turn heads everywhere they go, she’s done nearly everything in the goat world — from serving on the CGS board to supporting 4‑H and mentoring countless breeders. She’s the steady voice on the other end of the phone when things get tricky and the familiar face who always shows up for the community. As WRDGS Treasurer, Sherrie keeps us organized, grounded, and moving forward. We’d be lost without her.

Robyn Anderson
Robyn is the definition of Swiss‑sassy multitasking: a breeder of Toggenburgs and LaManchas, a 20‑year veterinary‑industry pro, and a hands‑on mentor who brings her two young sons along for every goat adventure. Whether she’s troubleshooting herd health or cheering on newcomers, Robyn shows up with warmth, wisdom, and a spark that lifts the whole community. WRDGS is lucky to have her energy on the board.

Shannon Skulmoski
Shannon of Itty Bitty Acres brings big heart and mighty enthusiasm to the world of small goats. A passionate breeder of Nigerian Dwarfs and Pygmies, she’s deeply involved in the community — serving on the Canadian Nigerian Dwarf Association board and judging for the Canadian Goat Society. Shannon’s kindness, encouragement, and genuine love for the animals make her a joy to work with and a bright presence in every WRDGS project. We’re thrilled to have her sweetness and steady dedication on the board.

Aimee Orgar
Aimee of Lone Rock Nigerians brings talent, sparkle, and a whole lot of fun to the dairy goat world. Her Nigerian Dwarfs may be the stars of the farm, but her Alpines are just as ready to rock the show ring. With a well‑run, health‑focused program and a great eye for quality, Aimee raises goats that shine — and she somehow makes the whole process look effortless. Her energy, kindness, and sense of humour make her a joy to work with and a fantastic addition to the WRDGS board.

Lauren Topping
Lauren burst onto the dairy goat scene with the energy of a Nigerian Dwarf on fresh spring pasture. A dedicated breeder of mighty minis, she classifies, shows, and milks her herd on the 305 program with precision and pride. Lauren also serves on the CGS Milk Recording Committee, bringing sharp insight and big‑picture thinking to national dairy goat progress. At WRDGS, she’s both a source and a force — our website designer, digital wrangler, and all‑around problem‑solver. Her enthusiasm, creativity, and commitment make her an essential part of the society’s momentum
